Sir Keir Starmer plans to press supporting countries to supply Ukrainian forces with additional long-range missiles to strike Moscow's positions during discussions in the UK capital on the upcoming Friday.

Britain's leader plans to receive President Volodymyr Zelensky alongside the so-called "alliance of supportive nations", including more than 20 of supporting nations who have agreed to offer Ukraine protection commitments once hostilities pause is arranged.

Zelensky has been urging for several weeks for more extended-range systems from the West, an action that Moscow has cautions would intensify the hostilities.

Ukraine's leader is travelling from the EU capital, where he met EU leaders on yesterday requesting financial support.

"The sole individual participating in current hostilities who refuses to end the war is the Russian leader," Starmer stated.

Sir Keir will also announce that one hundred extra air defence missiles will be provided to Kyiv earlier than planned, as outlined in a £1.6bn deal reached between the UK and the Ukrainian government in spring.

Diplomatic Momentum

The Ukrainian president travels following important international achievements this week: Donald Trump's decision to enact further sanctions against Russia, and European countries consenting to finance Ukraine's financial gap.

Sir Keir is aiming to maintain the forward movement by escalating the influence on Moscow to pursue an end to the hostilities.

Britain's leader will urge delegates to increase the supply of advanced missile technology following a successful strike on an industrial facility in the Russian city, Russia, using Britain-delivered Storm Shadow missiles.

"Furthermore, his brutal assaults on innocent children in a nursery this week show that perfectly obvious," he added.

A pair of children were included in at least seven fatally wounded in multiple Russian strikes on Ukrainian territory, which targeted a daycare center in the major urban center Kharkiv.

Financial Discussions

Sir Keir will consult supporting countries on methods to remove Moscow's energy exports off the global market.

They will furthermore discuss using blocked Russian resources to provide the Ukrainian government with financial loans, while the initiative faced divided opinions and legal hurdles at the European meeting on yesterday.

European Union stopped short of approving to a proposal to utilize up to €140bn in blocked Moscow funds to financially prop up Kyiv's finances.

Nevertheless, the leaders consented to help support the country's "financial needs" for the upcoming biennium.

United States also disclosed restrictions on Wednesday against Russia's biggest oil companies, Rosneft Oil and Lukoil Corporation, as component of initiatives to apply economic pressure on Moscow to enter peace talks.

Moscow launched its major offensive of Ukraine in winter 2022. The invading forces presently holds about one-fifth of Ukrainian territory, encompassing the southern Crimea peninsular the Russian government annexed in the year 2014.
